Watch the ultraviolence in Santi’s ‘Sparky’ video

Following the back to back success of ‘Rapid Fire’ Santi’s new single ‘Sparky’ which dropped a few weeks ago, now has a music video and it is spanking hot.

The gray and addictive new track, which was produced by Odunsi The Engine and Le Mav, now gets the visual treatment in the form of a striking, self-directed music video. The video cycles through the loss of someone and the many emotions that come from it: anger, despair, grief and ultimately, in this video, violence.

Santi

“‘Sparky’ is a film about consequences and the minds of different people and how small events lead to unexpected results,” Santi tells Crack Magazine.

In his own words:

“I wanted to do more storytelling in visuals because it’s an important medium in which we can bring out various emotions in people. It was also key that we show everyone’s creative ability. From the cast to the styling, to the cinematographers, everyone came together and brought their own essence into it, and that is the beauty of ‘Sparky.’

Watch the music video for Santi’s Jungle Fever

At a time were cinematography more than ever is as important as the quality of concept in film directing, Lagos based musician Santi takes a different approach to his art style in the video for his latest work Jungle Fever.

In a similar trend to the unorthodox art formats as seen in videos like acid pop styles of Maleek Berry’s Been Calling and Falz Baby Boy which use psychedelic undertones of colors to depict mood, Santi switches up environments and the video is stripped of over saturated generic scenes and emphasizes clearer and cleaner camera with dolly zooms and vertigo effects in an unfamiliar outdoor territory filled with flowers and set against skyscrapers
